Ok so tax expired yesterday but no reminder received. Only realised at work today so decided to do it online this evening.

"Unfortunately, because of the tax class of the vehicle or recent changes to the vehicle record, you are currently unable to apply for vehicle tax or make a SORN using this service"

Definitely no changes in the last year so I dunno what could be up? Log book and license in this address so I can't understand why no reminder received. MOT is due in 6 days but that can't be pertinent can it?

Wife says she will take the V5c and MOT cert down the post office tomorrow and get it taxed. Does she need to have anything else with her, absent the tax reminder?

Its the MOT for some reason. Less than a week and they kick you out.

I had the same thing when trying to retax my XR-SM at the beginning of the month. No explanation when applying on-line about the fact that the MoT is due on the 13th,so I got the test done on Monday and got the tax sorted that evening.

Now that we no longer have a visual reminder of when the road tax is due we are highly dependant on DVLA on sending out V11 forms, unless you make a note on your phone, calendar or diary.

Be wary as peeps will get caught out by this Evil or Very Mad

Buy many vehicles, get multiple plates made up on ebay of say, 1 of them, insure that single one, fit to all cars/bikes.

Problem solved until you kill a kitten or get pulled over on your 180mph 2 wheeled Nissan Micra... Laughing

DVLA don't even recognise my new car.. Laughing

Has the van been written off recently, and requires a VIC check?

I didn't get reminders when I had VIC markers against my car.

It was written off again (3rd time's a charm) before I needed to change the address on the V5, but they also wouldn't have sent me a new one until the VIC had been done.
