Sold a car, the DVLA can't find the address on their system.
Trying to decode potato writing and failing.

Help me BCF, you're my only hope.

The only road with post code L6 0BH is Monastery Road.

I understand your predicament, but how is it your problem? Are you required to ensure that anyone you sell a car to is literate?

To get a refund on the tax.

I'd say it was definitely Pera, judging from the way he writes his Es and Rs. Maybe it's an easy mistake to make for a foreigner to assume that everywhere is a Street when it should be Close. Postcode is obviously bonk, perhaps he put an old one down my mistake/on purpose.

Name is really hard to read though, Tomas Pafnois?

He has the writing of a 4 year old. Did he seem derp? Cynical Jon reckons he's trying to fall off the radar.

To get a refund on the tax.

Now you've got my interest! Following on from Tungtvann's post, I assumed that the new tax system meant that the tax you purchased does not now go with the new owner, are we now expected to do background checks on those that buy our vehicles?

A simple check on the Royal Mail postcode finder will tell you that there is no 4 letter road in the L6 0B area, the likelihood is that your buyer lives in the area - should narrow it down editby to several hundred thousand people! Laughing

To be fair though, he is writing in another language.

Change of keeper notification is entirely the current keeper's responsibility.

And if that person says his name is John Smith from 1 High Street, London. How are we to know otherwise? I'm just questioning where the responsibility stops.

If you were to tell the tax man that it's actually Pera Close or Monastery Street or just stick a pin in the map, what would actually happen?

I would hazard a guess, just putting this out there, not entirely sure but... they would check...

For legibility, I'd imagine with the current keeper.

Who knows though? Presumably them.

Could the house number actually be 2a instead of 20? Pera Close only goes up to #7.

https://www.royalmail.com/find-a-postcode is handy for finding parts of street names. Pera Close is L6 1RD though, which doesn't look anything like 0BH. If you type L6 0B into the text box, there aren't any roads that sound anything like Pera, though Sad

If the DVLA are being arsey over this then god help anyone who doesnt have the exact neat and checkable details on a V5 when they sell. Just think of how much money the DVLA will save by refusing to give refunds because of shit spellers!
