Has anybody done any advanced riding courses? how much was it? did it drop your insurance at all?

Having passed my bike test i am on the lookout for a better bike, but insurance is a real arse :< I found the bike test to be very easy, which makes me consider that with a bit of training i could do an advanced riding course and learn a few things and possibly drop my insurance?

All opinions welcone Smile

Don't know of any specific advanced training places as they vary around the country.
You could try your local IAM group https://www.iam.org.uk. Friend's husband tried it and found he could ride quicker/smoother and got something off his insurance too (although others may reply that the IAM has a 'old man's pipe and slippers' image).

we've done this a few times

IAM or Rospa will train you for free

T.C. has made a fantastic offer to board members of some of his time for a fraction of the normal cost which will be a bit more intensive as free sessions tend to be strung out over weeks and weeks

your local Police may be running an observed rides scheme which will give you a good taster
