I've only recently gotten a bike but have always been into GPs, WSB, etc thanks to my dad. He was a big Sheene fan and so by proxy I am, I'll have a watch.

There are also some GP recordings from Australian TV on Youtube where he is commentating. He is so insightful and can really describe what those bastard, unforgiving 500s were upto in the late 80s/early 90s: https://www.youtube.com/user/FullThrottlePilot

I may have been drinking but all in all he's a f'n hero and I'm privileged to have seen him in a few classic races.

BBC did a good programme on the Hunt/Lauda rivalry, but then they did that 'driven' program on Graham Hill so guess they could do another. Also remember one on Jim Clark.

Personally I'd like more on motorcycle racing (Surtees will cover that). Kinda feel with the racing drivers I've heard it before, but knowing less about bike racing I've really enjoyed the unrideables programs on itv4 and 'Road' was amazing.

I guess the problem will be matching the celeb with the racer, in that both need to be well known enough to give the audience something to make it an appointment to watch.

The BBC did a very occasional drama series on British daredevil racers, with Robert Hardy as Sir Malcolm Campbell, Anthony Hopkins as Donald Campbell and Rowan Atkinson as Sir Henry 'Tim' Birkin; the next was meant to be about Mike Hawthorn, but it hasn't happened yet, sadly.
