I fly through one at 70, what's the dealio, do they have a secondary camera at the other end of the road so spot the backs of our bikes?

Wondered every time I've went through one but never thought to ask.

Most gatsos have only cameras facing in 1 direction (usually front). I have been seeing more and more with rear facing cameras on the motorway though.

Honestly never done it but might just to piss off a plod. Would feel like I'd be getting my £100 fine back. I'll wait 'til I have my full license first though. Laughing

Speaking of which, I have 3 points, does 6 get me a ban?

NDA - 6 points within 2 years of gaining your first full licence means R-R-R-REVOCATION!

No, Gastos are rear facing, they are not suppose to be used front facing due to emitting a bright flash like a camera.....

A Truvelo camera is front facing mostly and emits a IR red/purple flash.

Same question with front facing scamera vans?

I was caught by one in the car a few months back, I'll take it as a £100 fine for 'failing to MTFU and ride more'.

Some scamera vans have scameras on the rear, side and front that will snap the front, side and rear of your bike as you pass it.

How I regret not stopping for the ninja plods that stopped me when they didn't even have a car as far as I could see.

IIRC Gatso's are not allowed to be front facing anymore since the flash caused a crash or something similar.

I havent risked a gatso, but can confirm that no fucks are given should you ride through front facing average speed cameras. I don't think they even register your presence, since they just scan for plates.

I have actually been inside a camera van. A cop hides in the back and uses the camera with a Trigger. Can zoom to three miles away and it's scary how good the picture is without much shaking. Legally they can only zoom a mile.

This is for catching the back of plates unsure what they do if caught front.

My nab earlier this year from a van, they had one pic from the front and one from the rear. Both very clear pics of the entire bike, rather than just a plate shot as they send you from some fixed cameras.

Just went head onto one 30over (on a private road officer) but used traffic once in alignment for concealing.

Slightly OT but I was wondering about the rear facing average speed cameras that seem to be springing up everywhere - do they still work if you are positioned to the inside of the lane and banked over?

Unless they're designed with this scenario in mind I'd bet that they only look for straight number plates located near the centre of a lane.

Don't the vans have lasers rather than a camera? they zap you from the front to check the speed then get your number...no?
