Just thought i would post my day today Smile

So here we are the last day of 2014, and i've still not seen a flake of snow! (very surprised since i live at the foot of the pennines)
When i bought my bike earlier this year, no way did i think i would still be riding around on it this late into the year Smile

That said, ive not been on the bike since my last commute to work on the 24th... and due to man flu (worse than ebola) i didnt feel in the mood to ride.
I had a late night last night and so got up late today, looked outside to glorious sunshine and a dry road. My first thought was the bike.
My poor baby has been covered up and lonely for a week, so i went and threw the cover off.
OMG my bike was soaking wet underneath Sad thats it i am taking it for a spin while the weather is good to dry it off.

I checked the lights, oil, chain etc and went to get my gear on, 10 minutes later the sky is grey and it looks miserable.... typical Brit weather :/

Anyway i was dressed to impress now so set off anyway, and decided to head over the hills. Only 5 minutes into my journey, i had seen lots of other Bikers doing the same as me AND i see SNOW! Lots of it... what the hell, snow cover hills, snow piled at the road side and in some places on the road too!

Over the hill i went and coming down the other side the road looked dodgy in places. Usually on bends, i slow down and try and keep the bike as upright as possible.
At this point a BMW is in my mirrors pushing me :/ I pull to the left to let him pass, but he doesn't ffs deciding instead, just to annoy the shit out of me for the next few miles.
On the way home i was happy with my last ride of 2014, the bike was now dry too.
last mile home.... the heavens opened and it pissed it down! grrrr
so back to the house exactly like i started.... with a wet bike lol

Also today i made the mistake of turning right over a grid and ended up with a slip and wobble, like ive seen many times on MotoGP.... only my version ended up with me having a turd lodged in my sock! (all that snow and i slip on a wet grid ffs)

Ive learned several things today....
1, Grids are evil bastards! and councils enjoy putting them on as many bends as they can :/
2, I am not as cool as Rossi after a wobble lol
3, BMW car drivers are tossers..... always BMWs for some reason :/
4, Taking your bike for a dry off spin is pointless, if you live under Gods sprinkler system called the UK.
5, If you dont see snow from your bedroom window, dont presume there isnt any!
6, My new snood i got for xmas that keeps my neck warm, makes it hard to turn my head for shoulder checks :/

Grids live in gutters...You often ride in the gutter. Smile
Rossi...[shrugs]
BMW..Audio Porsche...Seat...Fiat...Vauxhall..Ford Transit in white..HGV...Buses.
A snood isn't a neck tube..It's a snood.
Rain is wet.
Weather can be different in a different place.

I mean this in a helpful way.

Come back when you're drunk and tell us more about your day. Thumbs Up
