Question on interchangeability of bike parts

Was curious if anyone with bike experience of the older models like the GS 550, is there any chance of interchangeable parts with newer or other model bikes or is there ANY other bike model which has interchangeable or similar parts as a GS 550 ?, all responses appreciated

Yes there is a chance, especially if the Suzuki parts number match up.

Part numbers are probably the best guide, but in your case, I would seek out a forum that specialises in your make and model and ask there too.

I have also found that some sellers on eBay list all makes and models that a particular part is compatible with - and that has helped me in the past.

Bike specific forums have saved me time and money..Well when I say saved me time that's possibly stretching the truth as some of them aren't as active as I'd wanted.
