Stole this from somewhere else.

Sky and BBC reveal 2015 Formula 1 coverage plan

Formula 1's British television broadcasters Sky and BBC have revealed how they will share out live coverage of races this year.

As part of a share deal agreed for the start of 2012, the two broadcasters divide the races between them - with half being shown exclusively live on Sky.

This season, Sky is getting exclusive live rights to 10 grands prix. This includes the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, the blue-ribband event in Monaco and the returning event in Mexico.

The BBC will be showing the British GP live, and will broadcast four of the last six races as they happen.

The races that the BBC does not show live will be broadcast as edited highlights later in the day.

Thank god thats not one of the bbc live events...

About the most boring F1 race going.... Unless loads of them crash Rolling Eyes

I'm sure if it was not for the number of drivers who live there and BE liking to grease upto the royals. We would never see it again....

Still think it was a massive mistake on the BBCs part to agree to that contract. The contract agreement between FOM and the teams states that it has to be shown live on free-to-air tv in a number of particular countries... UK being one of them, probably the main one infact.

The BBC couldn't afford to keep paying the money they were, because they decided to blow a ridiculous amount showing all the 2012 Olympics live. Even the shit that nobody watched.
ITV could not afford to bid and so weren't involved at all.
Channel 4 would not likely have been able to afford the same money BBC could, if push came to shove to outbid each other.

If the BBC hadn't made this agreement with Sky, then FOM would have had to reduce the price they were demanding for the tv rights, because at the end of the day it had to sell the coverage to BBC/ITV/C4.

But they got into bed with Sky, technically fulfilled FOM's contract, and showed some of the races live, but lost most of what made the BBC's coverage so much better than ITVs.

I don't mind though, I had Sky Sports already, so I didn't have to pay any extra to watch F1, and with the amount of money Sky can put into the production, it has made massive improvements in its coverage over BBC, and they nabbed Brundle and Kravitz too who along with Jake Humphrey were the 3 best people in the BBCs coverage.

A member on here sells them ( N30 )

it's quite good, you basically get a flashed skybox f5s so you can have the full sky package channels, once you've got the box it's something like £40 every 6 months, so well worth it
