Hi All,

I got a new helmet at the NEC bike show and have used it for a few weeks of commuting without problem. This morning however it was a bit colder so I *locked the visor down, the visor is pretty stiff when locked and is difficult to undo so I normally just close it. I got about half way up the motorway and my helmet seemed to start resonating it was like I was resting my chin on a washing machine.

If I looked down it would stop and if I looked left or right it would stop so I don't think it was the bike and I could not feel anything abnormal through the pegs or bars. It happened between 80-85 but not at lower speeds.

Has anyone else had this? could it just be the wind speed this morning? The helmet is a Shark Speed R .

*clipped over the pin

Sounds like buffeting. Can you adjust your screen higher or lower?

I have a similar issue, not the same but similar in which speeds bring it on.

I have a trusty Nolan N90 and it's fairly sound.
I just bought a Reevu also from the show...and when I do triple figs on my mates private land, see what i did there? it changes its shape to a wall. Talk about fighting the wind - this also happens around 80+mph

I just put it down to one of those things...what you become accustom too before changes are made. Even the straps on a new helmet feel weird after wearing the same helmet year in year out.

They have all sorts of fins and aero developments specificly for naked bikes to prevent buffeting at speed.

Have you fitted the chin curtain & confirmed that the mechs on both side are adjusted up? think its a 1.25mm allen key to tighten them.
