Hi all, just bought my first bike, a SV650S K1. Absolutely stunning but im kinda concerned on a few things such as when I break (front) the front lights flicker slightly and when the choke is on to warm the engine the speedo etc lights flicker? is it maybe needing a new battery?

I'm new to bikes as you can tell

My old SV ate its regulator, and I'm not a fan of charging systems so I'd check its actually charging the battery properly.

possibly a bad earth .. check for bad connections in the lights, front and rear...
if you have a spare rear bulb I would put that in... seen some weird happenings because of cheap inferior quality bulbs.
and buy a multi meter.

Congrats on your new bike, enjoy!

+1 Get a multimeter......SV's should have been issued them as part of the toolkit Smile

Depends on the type of problem. If it's a charging issue then no...

Check it with a multimeter first Thumbs Up
