Place spills here.

Rules:
1. Give it a *consecutive* number;
2. Brief details;
2a. New addition: Complete poll
3. Open your own thread to discuss, display artistic talents via Paint.

So if you don't put it here, Shocked it never happened Shocked - no matter how many posts/views you get on your own thread about it. Nobody really cares enough to bother to collect your stats from other threads.

4. If you die, don't put it here. Open your own post-mortality thread for the relative sympathy. Gory pics welcome but must include NSFW tag.

/tongue-in-cheek

Go.

Moderatorios:

Is there a way to make the poll multiple-choice by any one person?

Obviously it would be preferable if nobody ever had a reason to post more than once in this thread in any one year (indeed at all, ever).

But it might be an interesting/useful option, if it is available.

Hellkat:

Afraid not.
Maybe when Korn introduces the new super-fancy BCF in X+1 year's time.

Also - we can't see the results until we vote.

I figured that might be a popular option.
Hence I will not be forwarding any results to the Nobcat Transport Authority.

Ah alright then - I'll take the No 1 spot Laughing

BCF Spill count 2015: 1

Coming home from work the other night - dark, wet and mountains of Council grit everywhere on a country road...

Fox ran out in front of me - I *attempted* to manoeuvre around it, only to end up with my front wheel in a pile of aforementioned Council grit... (yeah, poor obs and bad braking etc...)

Lost the front end at around 50mph, bike went down hard onto it's right hand side and we parted company, with both of us sliding around 40ft (down a hill ya see...)

Good gear is good - didn't hit anything other than road so no damage done to myself other than a few bruises. Managed to hit the kill switch as I came off, so that was a win (or was it Matrix-like reactions? Who knows...? Wink ).

Picked bike up, dusted off and rode home after collecting a few bits off the road... repaired mostly the next day... Muffs and front brake lever/reservoir took most of the brunt of it, alongside losing around half the depth of my engine casing! All cosmetic though... Cool

Bugger.. I bet that stung a bit.

Well done on being first for 2015, and in such an admirably correct and not too painful format, though Cool Thumbs Up

Whilst your format is okay, whatever happened to Joe?
He was the spill counter guy, and also a fairly interesting character.

Engine cases are strong! On a ZZR, they're made of plastic it seems, they get destroyed VERY easily.

congrats for not dying!

MODS can we sticky this?

FISTY if you read the sticky thread that was there, you'd know it was linked from that. Which shows how useful sticky threads actually are.

Yeah I dunno, I looked at that too and wondered why Joe didn't do it last year? So I just took the initiative, I guess.

I wonder if the mods can do anything about that annoying thing with the sentence that is too long; my version of the thread looks all a bit mickey mouse, out of alignment etc.
Edit: okay, on my mickey-mouse screen at home, it looks wonky and out of alignment, but on my snazzy huge screen at work, it looks fine, and I am assured by G that it also looks fine on his screen too Nuff said Laughing

I read the sticky thread of threads. It is in a list of threads. I meant it's own sticky easily seen at the top of the page. This is a fairly good thread that multiple people may contribute to. New folks will see it at the top of the page rather than a list of lists.

BCF Spill count 2015: 2

didn't take me long to get onto this year's spill counter.

unfortunately no exciting story.

Coming down the ramp on the Beckton flyover, swerved a little too agressively to avoid a load of rocks and mud dumped in the middle of the lane and ended up riding straight through it resulting in me bowling the CBR down the ramp like a bowling ball. two broken indicators and a slightly bent rear brake pedal.

BCF Spill count 2015: 3

Not sure of the exact date, but would have been around the third of January.

https://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Fladdem/Untitled2_zps60e4f71f.png

I think that paint diagram is worthy of potato out of ten! Laughing

I was racing a MK2 MR2 round the bottom of town about midday, round the one-way, two-lane system on my CRM, we came to a halt to let pedestrians cross, we weren't racing at this point, but then while the pedestrians crossed, the driver went woooormph! with the throttle, so I wang-ding-ding-dinged mine.

In my diagram, I am red, MR2 man is yellow.

That was the signal, pedestrians cleared the crossing, no one else about, we gunned it for all we were worth, we probably hit about 60 before he turned off, I then realised I was on hard knobblies, it had been raining and I was coming into the top of the one way area way too hot. I slammed the bike over, the front wheel started to slip, I stuck my boot out to support the weight of the bike while leant over, somehow, I had dropped it down a couple of gears to just below the powerband and I somehow opened the throttle up more while leant over, the bike came to life and the back end started to slip as well, so I slipped around the corner until I got to the black X and foot peg touched floor Laughing and the bike just span away from me down the road. Leaving me sat where the black X is.

The push rod from the rear master cylinder unscrewed itself and somehow fell out of the brake clevis. Luckily there was no one around, so I ran over, picked my bike and as I went to leave, got a bit over-exuberant with the throttle and wheel span away. Embarassed

The daftest thing is that the police station is on that road!

I don't think it is possible. I saw my mate scrape pegs on a DT125 with TKC80's in summer with a passenger, so lowered the pegs a bit, but I couldn't do it again... A bit of sliding and controlling the dropping of the bike for a while, somehow. I was still sat on the bike and the pegs scraped for a second or so then the bike slipped away. I've bent the left hand peg now, it's annoying off-road as it curls up into the bottom of your foot when your stood up. Laughing

I see scraping pegs on an off roader is an achievement if you can keep it upright so was it an actual highside?

No it wasn't a high-side on my CRM, I high-sided my Yamaha TTR 250 though last November time. Similar thing, came into a corner too hot, rear wheel started slipping, it actually drifted all the way around to full lock, going round a right-hander with the bars on full left lock is not fun. Shocked Then I panicked, pulled the clutch and it snapped back to behind the front wheel and chucked me off into the oncoming traffic. Embarassed

I can scrape pegs on my old Honda Varadero 125, but that doesn't really count, the pegs are so low to the floor, they always touch.

This off in January was a proper low-side, I was so close to the floor when the bike went, I must have only dropped a foot or so. Laughing I landed square on my backside, sat in the road. I bet it looked hilarious. Thumbs Up

Found out the hard way me and my bike will not be competing in the Winter Olympics paired ice skating competition, as we lack the skills to stay up right.
However the bike will be getting new bars as a result and some gaffer tape. Wink
