As above, I was flashed by the camera in a 30 zone.
Someone flew at me from the right, at speed, I was doing about 25, and gunned it to evade round the left of him, quite sure the cam flashed me at this point.

Is it justified to do this, if so do I have any chance of contesting it? as far as im concerned I had 3 options...
1) Slam the brakes and come off the bike
2) Slam into his car emerging from my right.
3) Evade around the left of him, and possibly inadvertently going slightly over the limit to do so. (didnt think I had, but the flash?)

I chose option 3 in case you weren't sure. Very Happy

So, what do BCF?

Nothing until you get a FPN blackmail letter.

Don't suppose you were recording?

Your defence is duress:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duress_in_English_law

Police Roadcraft specifically mentions motorcycles' acceleration as a tool for avoiding hazards. I don't have a copy to hand though.

I'd take a Kitten Awareness Course if offered rather than risk that defence in front of magistrates.

Balls, already had my "Awareness course" due to 36 in a 30 (poor obs) Laughing
Only just happened tonight, so no FPN yet, although I am preparing myself for it.

No recording and didn't stop for witnesses with something like that.

I'm just into my 2 year probation too, so next time I guess I either have to lose my license or let them kill me...
Thanks DVLA! ya bunch of jobsworth cunts!

Are there instances cameras flash and nothing happens?

Many.

The flash doesn't mean that there's a camera in the gatso box.

Speed Camera Russian roulette:

See a speed camera and the aim it to hide your plate by doing a wheelie, if you don't wheelie you get points, if you do wheelie you get man points.

You have 4 trys before a ban resets lol

I only get 2 tries, or 1 if this works out badly. Neutral

So hypothetically, is there a minimum angle the bike must obtain before obfuscation occurs? Thinking

Also, as the flash will occur regardless, do I have to wait out the 2 weeks before obtaining my man points, or do I get them in Lieu and are revoked If I get points?

Details man, details. Rolling Eyes

Wait it out like a boss, as for the angle depends on the angle of the plate, MT03 easy, bandit 600 need to 12'o' clock it

True, but he looks fucking ridiculous, ergo I win.

On a slightly more serious note, how does one train themselves to be a 'Tooter'?
I've been in plenty of situations where I have right of way, and people kept coming at me until I evaded, my instinct is "get the fuck away safely", tooting as people emerge isnt instinctual to me. Neutral

I don't stop, ill slow down but fully intend to plow into them, makes it more clear cut then for insurance purposes.

If you lock the front wheel and they fuck off you got no chance without witnesses.

The offending car will be in the shot, it should easily introduce enough doubt to let you off.

I have also considered the possibility that somebody flashed their beams to warn me that dickhead was still flying at me, but that wild guess isn't based on any kind of logic.

I havent been flashed by enough cameras to easily tell the difference (the one that got me first time was a roadside van)

Where were you in regard to the markings for the camera, on them or before them?

Passing another vehicle on the markings means there is every chance your plate was obscured by their vehicle.
