I've only just joined this forum in the hope that it might lead to the recovery of my dad's bike. I hope it doesn't offend anyone that I haven't posted before.

Some salt of the earth type has stolen my dad's YPVS from his wooden shed at home in Leicestershire. It happened on Sunday night (night of 04/01/15 to 05/01/15). They stole garden equipment and I think they just saw that it was possible to open the locked twin doors simply by undoing the shot bolts (having broken in through the window).

We've had the bike in our family from new. I rode it back to our home in Leicestershire from Granby Motors in Ilkeston in 1990 (I think) and it was a fantastic bike.
In recent years, my dad bought it from me and at 73 years of age he enjoys the light weight and performance.

It's like this one (can't find a photo at the moment):

Registration : G702 TAU

Modifications:

grease nipples fitted to passenger footrest pivots and brake lever.
repaired damage to offside belly pan ( you'd need to look inside to see)
slight dent in tank with missing bit of paint touched in.

If anyone has any information, we'd be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Rich

Awww damn. Sad

I hope, I really hope, that it's not lying burnt out in a ditch.

I'm not in that area any more but best of luck to you.

Such a pretty bike to be stolen like that, I hope it gets back to you in one piece. There are some really poor excuses for humans out there.
