hi guys im new here but not new to bikes as iv been riding on and off for about 20 years ... so long story short I got me a superbike rbp 125 for on the road as a little run around . but this superbike is been a pain in my a$$ lol . basically I try to kick it over and sometimes if with fire then die with in about 2 sec . now iv checked for spark and its fine . took carb off and cleaned the jets and freed up the floats as they was stuck so thought that was it sorted . but no ... iv tried looking for the carb default settings and am I right in thinking the idle is 1 1/2 turns out and mix screw is 2 turns out ? . I have read about that where the tank tap don't have a tap but uses a suction system so checked all that and there was only a tiny drip coming out .. when I put a bit of juice in where the spark plug goes it fires up . the carb is a deni PZ27 .....any help guys Sad

1 1/2 turn out on the mixture is about right will want fine tuning have u checked carb is getting fuel ? Sounds like it isn't If the vacume tap is leaking I doubt it will run but to by pass tap make a dummy tank out of a old coke bottle and fill that with fuel too see it it runs fine then you know you have a tap problem check all the rubber pipes are good going from tap to carb as these split and there pushed on properly. Would also be worth checking the filter attached to the top of the tap and also check. The fuel lines are on the right way. And carb rubbers are good could be drawing in too much air Would also check your tappets as if there not set right will also be a pig to start and its good maintance

Also any pic or carb and tap

All the best

Brad

You sure this bike even has a mixture screw?, I would be more inclined at slackening off the valve clearances as these bikes tend to tighten up , not go slack .

I would try a dummy tank frist see if it solves problem then u know the tap is at fault pictures of tap its self.. Would help to asses if you could run a normal tap on your tank

All the best

Try starting/running the bike with the fuel filler cap open as the breather hole might be blocked, also if your bike still has the stupid fresh air system remove it , block the vents and throw over the nearest hedge as the hoses rot away and bleed air constantly into the inlet manifold causing weak running , burnt valves and poor starting.

Did you try a dummy tank with no tap ???? Without seeing how the tapp attaches to tank can't say I what type to replace it with or weather its at fault ... Try a dummy tank see if itr fixes problem then drain your tank and remove tap and mesure the thread if its that type go to a hi level supplier and get them to match it or good only bay of e

All the best

New tank tap it not a matter of blocking hole up think it opens under suction so could try running it with a vac pipe in mouth lol and blocking it carb end or trying to rip gubbins out as I've suggest get a coke bottle and drill cap thread in a old bleed nipple connect fuel line or just wedge pipe into fuel bottle as see if it runs no point in ripping it of I'f it not at fault

How's the diagnosis going?

I'd do two things:

1) Disconnect the fuel line from the vacuum tap to the carb and put it in a jar.

2) Connect a fuel line to the carb from a dummy tank or bottle.

Crank.

Fuel should come out of the vacuum tap line.

The bike should start and run.

If either of these doesn't happen, proceed on that basis.
