MotoGP / WSB / BSB

Bit confused as to what all the above are.

MotoGP is an international competition so how does it differ from World Superbikes? I understand the BSB is our domestic competition but what engines do all the different classes have?

The rule sets are what set them appart.
MotoGP is anybody with enough money to make a dedicated road bike and run it at all the events. Thus the bikes dont have to have any relation at any roadgoing bikes, allthough it is now becomming common for bike manufacturers to make a road going lookalike of the motoGP bike.
MotoGP is the biking equivilant of F1

WSB or World Superbikes is 'Superbike' racing, as in allt he bikes enterd have to be based on a road bike. these bikes can either be a 1000cc twin or a slightly restricted 1000cc 4.
WSB is like the biking equivilant of GT car racing

BSB or British superbikers is 'Superbike' racing as with WSB however i dont think the 1000 4's have to be restricted at all. BSB is like the bikeing equiviland of Touring cars.

Im 99% sure that 1000cc 4's have to be slightly restricted in WSB but not in BSB, which is why you normally see the Ducati's being domenant in WSB

wsb - tweaked production bikes at international level of riding
bsb - tweaked production bikes at national level of riding

I dont think most of the WSB bikes are actualy tweeked road bikes, they may look like the road bike, but thats about it i think.
Much the same with touring cars, they look like the road going version, but the engines are different, none of the mechanical parts are standard, and i think they replace the bodywork with something lighter and stronger (carbon? )
