Hey, went through all the pages Very Happy it was a lot of information, still, another year has passed and wanted to hear from the owners how their mash bikes are doin. I'm considering the Mash black 7

Well, I still own the Honley RX3 and it went through it’s MOT without any advisory’s.
It still does what it does reasonably well.
It’s not dissolved into a pile of rust.

Okay it’s garaged when not in use, but if it’s raining when I need to go out on the bike, it still gets used.
No special treatment.

And as I said in the other thread, why a single. Big singles make shit road bikes.

They've missed a trick here. It's a nice looking bike but...........

Because it's a bike that's mostly about looks; not the riding?

Though - I don't mind a big single as it typically puts the peak power in the sort of range I find fun - though I'd still prefer a peaky 2 stroke to make me work for it.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Yep HQB went bump at the end of October, by all accounts a new importer is in the pipeline..

Both Herald & AJS are using the Shineray XY400 farme & engine in models, AJS also already have a Black 7 125 equivalent in the Cadwell etc..

It would be a shame if Mash's presence in the UK does end, as, they are providing a pretty decent and varied lineup, with engine sizes from 50-650cc.

However, if they are not sorted quickly, then AJS, Herald & Jawa will take over the 400cc (Shineray based 400) ground, and, Royal Enfield will have a near monopoly on the the retro 650 range.

Posted this in gen.bike chat but repeated here for Mash owners info.

New importers for Mash and SWM bikes are ThreeCross Motorcycles at Wimbourne. They are a long established bike dealers and hopefully will ensure the spares situation remains ok.

They were helpful when I needed parts for my Sachs Thumbs Up
They seemed to be genuinely interested in bikes and not just selling them and get you out the door.
