So, at some point next week, my bike will look something similar to this

Just signed onto the YamahaR forums and it's a top notch place Thumbs Up. Going to be pilfing some stuff from other forum members, as well as getting some very helpful advice.

Given that it's Tot, I'm betting on it being some form of whorcery.

I've got to give a MASSIVE shoutout to Harley for bringing the bike home and getting the Warrior stand attached.

But today marks the end of an era as I say goodbye to Marco. 6 years to the day, I bought him and he has served me well. Seeing an indicated 175mph on the bike was a very heart warming experience. But I know now he's going to a good home. Bye bye old friend Karma.

Been a busy boy trying to sort out bits and pieces for the bike.

Installed the shorty levers - that brembo radial master cylinder is something else. I thought the FireBlade's nissins were something, but this R1 just feels so sharp and tight! £50 from road and race online.

Ollie, I've got a new numberplate on the way. T333 TOT Thumbs Up Because Why Not!

It's not as if I'm inconspicuous with my activities or my points of view. It's narcissism to the max!

I'm not sure if I can flog that plate off, but anybody with an 07 Fireblade may want that?

Not happy with the colour temperature, so might switch to 4300K like I have in the car.

Came home from a business trip to find that my neighbour had taken delivery of this!

https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/p600x600/12504_10153136591280712_1175802686330832093_n.jpg?oh=ae1233e930891e7704c8f488c72fcc9f&oe=554E9E91

Didn't know I bought the full system! Still, spare downpipes, exup and akra side covers! Pipes say 5VY on them, but considering that now I know most parts are interchangeable, I'm not fussed!

https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/10574402_10153136591360712_8565374661236167186_n.jpg?oh=5ce7841f461f175ffe07fe3092df4c8c&oe=556E3360&__gda__=1433015045_0be7b21c5d81c4e00fdbeecfbaf325f0

£350 for ALL that! Not fussed about the aged finish on the cans either! They came out clean once I polished with 3000 grit and WD40.

Also, this came in the post!

Need to wait for the V5 so that I can get the certificate of entitlement changed.

Bagged an ebay bargain as well with this too.

Red suit is going for sale for £100, so I'm going to post it on the for sale thread.

The actual fitting of the exhaust took 20 mins, but yeah, a LOT of heat from the blow torch and some serious hammering! Stock cans are shot unfortunately. This is mostly due to me not being strong enough to yank the cans due to the cast. Nevertheless, job = jobbed!

I also managed to get this

For those who have been following my facebook posts, I'm sorry to inform you that Marco is dead. The electricals are totally shot, so Harley has bought a new stator, reg reg, battery, loom etc in the hope that the bike will fire up. Possible will need a new crank position sensor since it's coming up with the same symptoms as the other time. Bike will spin up on the starter motor but will not fire up. Nothing showing on the idiot lights/fault codes.

Knowing Harley, he'll figure a way of firing it up again!

Finally went out on her today and did the 80 mile Cotswolds test loop. I have to say, it was love at first ride.

Arrow Engine pulls strong in 2nd-6th. Rather docile below 6k, but fire it past 8k and it soars.

Arrow Great gearbox. Barring the judder in 1st gear < 4k, she clutchless upshifts with precision. No false neutrals. You can do it between 1st and 2nd without fear of hitting the neutral.

Arrow She handles so sweetly. Physically larger than the blade, but didn't seem to phase me. It's more of a point and squirt machine, rather than all out corner speed. I figured that under these greasy conditions and low temperatures, a late turn-in and gas-on-apex approach hits the spot. Turn-in was quite neutral with the Bridgestone S20's, but it is still 4-5°C out there

Arrow Taut suspension. See above. Helps with the handling. For a 28k miler, it just feels fresh!

Arrow The sound! Having the carbon cans made a huge difference. It pops and burbles on the overrun. I just had so much fun tickling it beyond 8k and letting off the gas. Had me giggling for ages! Listen to the clip below.

Yoshimura Redline

Anyway, I am officially back... at least that's what my headlight says!

RiRi needs a clean now, but it feels so great to be a biker again! This year, I'm going to spend as much time on motorbikes as I am on mountain bikes. Thumbs Up Karma

Haha. Nah, I was at my local bike (cycle) shop yesterday to fetch bits for my enduro. The place is on an old water mill, with period cotswolds stone, so I thought that it was a good an opportunity as any to get a shot in! The biggest irony is that a LOT of the bikes they have in stock are worth more than the R1! Wink Thumbs Up

I still crack up everytime the exhaust backfires! I definitely need to remap the bike so that I can iron out the flatspot at 3k. It bogs down just where you let the clutch out. Don't really want to be slipping the clutch on something that has 180bhp or so at the crank!

Nothing wrong with slipping the clutch. Off the line I'd be slipping it for a fair chunk anyway for max speed brah.

Looks very nice!

Looking good Mr Tits.

Important question though, how did you break your wanking spanner?

Nice choice pal, we need to sort a ride out soon, could see if JD is up for something too. As we're in Newbury and I want to hear those cans roar.

Thumbs Up Wink

Mountain bike crash! Rolling Eyes Me and Mossy aren't faring too well at the moment. Richard fractured his collar bone at bikepark wales!

This is what happens to BCFers when we go to the dark side! I'd rather have surgery and a lay-off rather than a ban or disqualification on my licence becase I was treating the road like a race track. 2015 might be track day year for me, and also the year where I should be relatively injury free.

Last year I did my ankle, several cracked ribs, shoulder, wrist,... all on a frigging pushbike! But, there's no denying that to get the equivalent buzz on the road, I'd have been doing triple digits everywhere. I did end up with a police chase back to my house in Summer (if you followed my facebook, you'd know the full story). Got away with just a slap on the wrist, but that was when I sorta called it time and switched to this.
