Hello there!

A brief post from me...in sunny Gran Canaria! I am burnt and really should have put on more suncream, so I suppose you won´t be jealous by that, it was 34 degrees today and it is way too hot. Thankfully chavs cant afford to be accomádated in a 4 star hotel so I am safe, but there are plenty of ped riders out and about. Rolling Eyes

Missing riding my bike, but I will have a tan for when I get home in about 8 days. Razz

But at least you're welcome to bloody hot weather in the UK... London was 28 degrees today and what pisses me off is that i have no bike whatsoever. Hope you've got pictures of your holiday.

Watch out if you hire a bike over there. I hired a DR350 in Playa Englasia (sp?). Had to make the guy tighten and lube the chain before I left on it. When I got it to the hotel (1/2 mile) I gave it a good check over as I was going to go right round the island...I had to put 2litres of oil in it to get it onto the dipstick (2l is nearly all an oil-in-frame bike holds!).

Landed up out pretty late on it and found it had no taillight bulb either. It had a cross ply on the front and a radial on the back, which would have been dodgy if I wasn't on dirt tracks most of the time.

I think he had sent it out on purpose with no oil in in the hope it would nip-up and he could keep the (extortionate) deposit. His face was a picture when I brought it back next morning with the tyres ragged to the edges, covered in dust and with another 350 miles on it Very Happy "Hey, you go a long way! you no have any problem?" (in a somewhat strained and high pitched voice), I just answered "no problem" and left him to stew.

Excellent bike for that country though, loads of semi-dirt roads up in the mountains with trees and small streams, little cafes at the end of the tracks for cold drinks and fantastic scenery. Much more plesant than the south of the island where they send the tourists which is pretty much desert.

Yeah I have heard you have had some decent weather back at home. Though I imagine it is quite humid, is it not?

The roads here are beautiful, every single one is tarmaced perfectly, no potholes, the signs are "understandable" and the scenery is well um, dull. All it is, is rock. No green leaves, grass etc...

Oh and the sight of German men in thongs is pissing me off. Twisted Evil
