Take a copy of the certificate before you send it.
Then, claim you've lost your licence instead of sending it in for address and photo, and that you've only just noticed as you need to do those things, and KEEP the original. You can then "find" it again if they do a SNAFU.
Send everything recorded. ____________________ Honda Varadero 125cc => Suzuki Bandit 650 33bhp => 77bhp =>

A simple copy is no good because the computer says no, it even happened to a copper. An original is hard to argue with.
You could ask the driving test centre you did your test at for a copy of the pass certificate to keep in case of fuckups. Tell them you lost it. They will charge you for it but I suspect not much.
EDIT: As an interesting aside. A mate of mine has been to Australia and back several times and had to exchange his UK licence for an Aussie one then back again. Each time, they added categories which you get "grandfather rights" to in that particular country (so like in the UK, a car licence gives you provisional motorcycles and road rollers among other things). Of particular interest was one of the larger vehicles covered on his licence in the UK pushed him into an even larger category in Australia. When he moved back, it bumped his licence into a bigger category still. He's got a whole load of light goods and pasenger vehicle types on his licence now that he never had before
In particular. You can automatically tow a 6 tonne trailer on a standard car licence in NZ. I bet if you went to NZ, swapped your UK licence for an NZ one, then did the reverse when you got back, you'd be allowed to tow trailers. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. As defblade says, lose your licence first!
Get your replacement licence with new photo and new address in one transaction.
Once you've got your "new" licenece sort out your test cert in a separate transaction.
From what I've seen on other forums the collective of fukwits, commonly known as the DVLA, don't seem to be able to cope with more than one transaction per envelope.
I "lost" mine when I needed to change address the replacement arrived with a new address with no problems. ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

Misplace what you can and get replacements before sending anything to the Dept of Various Lost Articles. Miraculously re find them should the Dept of Various Lost Articles screw up. Good luck |
