PostPosted: 04:58 - 29 Jan 2015    Post subject: How to clean a white laptop? Reply with quote

I've had a white HP Chromebook 14 for 7 months. I regularly put it in a carry case when I take it out of the house. For some reason, even though the case is black, it's leaving red marks on the laptop which won't come off whatever I use.

Any advice on how to clean it and make it white again without damaging it? I've seen the magic erasers on Amazon but don't like the idea of finely scratching the plastic every time I clean it.

That's not the white wearing off and the underlying colour showing through is it?

It's on the case, the case is there to protect it. So long as it doesn't affect the use I wouldn't be bothered.

Put a sticker on it Thumbs Up

Or get some white spray paint

What is the finish, matte or gloss, plastic or paint?

If it is gloss paint a bit of fine t-cut might work but if it is gloss plastic you will scratch it with t-cut.

Make up removing pads might work probably best to use the alcohol free kind though.

As for the red marks, have you had a pen leak in the bag or something?

Perrier water...

Cleans pennies nearly as well as coke, but without the sticky residue. We used to use it in the days of beige boxes and the results are quite impressive.
