Danger Will Robertson, I was out in the loveley weather in Fife, and so far I have been past no less than three mobile speed cameras.

What I would like to know is, when I was going past one of them I was doing about 33-4 in a 30 and past the second I was overtaking on the daul carriage way going about 73-75.

I could, I suppose, be In line to lose my license before I get it, 6 points new drivers act etc, Im riding on L's.

Do they usually prosecute at those speeds, fine points etc?

I really hope my RS was over reading.

typically you get 10% + 2 mph
so thats 35 in a 30 limit and 77 in a 70 limit.
and the speedos on RS's lies like bastards, so you should be allright, just dont push your luck in future though Wink

I always thought it was "Danger Will "Robinson"???

And I doubt you'll get a NIP, just be more observant for them next time though.

FYI I remember one of the bike mags (Ride, Bike TWO, maybe MCN) did a test a few issues ago and all the bikes they tested the speedo was showing higher than actual speed.

I shouldn't use this as a rule though.

ive been thinking about it, and the first speed trap was two police officers, with a gun, the second and third were vans on the dual carriage way with big lense type things sticking out a big square hole in the back of them. Wonder if that means they could only check forward facing number plates?

The coppers with the speed gun would usually have pulled you in at the time so they can prove who was riding (no piccy see?)

They are sometimes dead sneaky and put TWO cameras in those vans, one facing each way, although you are correct in that they are usually getting approaching vehicles.

Thanks, the annoying thing was I hardly ever speed, the guns were at Inverkeithing, where people come down off the bridge, so they proabably get a few people going very fast. Usually Im so concientious there, holding up all the cars as I pootle along like a tractor.
