Hey Guys,

Was being stupid today on my bike and managed to damage my radiator. Hurt
At the time I didn't realise it was damaged, I turned the bike off after about 2 minutes from the moment it was pierced (ba a piece of sharp plastic). Then about 5 hours later I made my way home which is 5 miles away from my mate's house. When I was chaining the bike I noticed that there was a leakage from the bike, upon inspection I saw that the radiator was damaged, and leaking quite badly. Crying or Very sad

I have a friend who gas a garage, 1.8 miles from me and do you think I can ride to him if I fill my coolant liquid to replace the radiator there, any tips... ?

Tips about what?

Just replace the radiator.

Remove old one.
Fit new one.
Fill system with coolant.

Next you'll be implying that having a full set of air tools isn't strictly necessary for doing an oil change....

The other ends are imperial. Thumbs Up

The other ends of what?

I can see the imperial measurements stamped on them.

Guys,

What I'm asking is what is the risk of riding 1.8 miles with the radiator in this state? Once I get to the garage I should be fine with replacing it. I'm not gonna strip the whole bike in front of my block on the pavement.

It's a naked bike...
There's no need to strip the whole fucking front end.
It will take 30 minutes, if that...
Nowt wrong with doing that outside a house.
I've done more on my fully faired bike while outside my house.

My friend, I'm not being rude but when I get home it's dark outside, not the perfect conditions for doing work on a bike. So please answer my question if you can because what you are saying is not of any use to me. And since when is the R125 a naked bike?
In fact, I'll just get a car to move it to the garage... problem sorted.

I'm not your friend, I have never met you...

I now see that you were going to buy a XR125 but did not, and you bought a YZF-R125 instead.

So it's a 1 hour job at most, stop being a girl.

Strange. I had to replace my radiator last week too on my CBR as it had a hole in it, pissing liquid out the back and making huge steam clouds out of the engine bay as it hit the downpipes.

I'm also commenting to keep track of this thread for the lulz.

So they can undo imperial fasteners then you turn them over to do up metric ones?

Is there an opposite pair to do up imperials and undo metrics?

Surely they can't fit both standards without some sort of surreal voodoo magic type stuff going on...

Op, it will probably be fine, it's your risk to take though nobody else knows how bad the leak is. If it overheats badly your risk ruining the engine.
