So this morning I set about changing the downpipes on my NTV 650 and couldn't get them free from the silencer end. They're well and truly seized together so I tried getting a thin screwdriver down where they meet to try and get them to part. Embarrassingly I've managed to fuck the pipes going into the silencer (not the downpipes).

I've managed to find a Y-piece to fit my downpipes but now I'm looking for a can with a 45mm inside diameter. As much as I'd love to splash out on something to make the NTV a tiny bit prettier to look at, I'm a poor poor student and can only spend the bare minimum. Sad

I've found universal exhausts on eBay and I'm wondering whether there's something that's going to catch me out with them, whether it be that I need to adjust the fuelling or that they're not road legal or something like that. What are people's take on them and am I able to use most cans with a 45mm inlet?

tl;dr Can I use any can that fits my downpipes?

Does the 600 exhaust fit the 650?

Failing that... I may have a 650 pipe, whole thing.

Can't see why it wouldn't, the downpipes are identical AFAIK.

How much you after for either?
