The last few days my bike (YBR125 Fuel Injected) has been randomly cutting out for a few seconds (revs start dropping even though i havent let off the throttle), then the throttle starts to work again. It seems to only happen when ive got the throttle pinned or when the revs are high but i cant be 100% on that. Also today my bike wouldnt start on the button for the first time since ive had it, not sure if thats related to the other thing.

If anyone has any ideas what/if there is a problem then help would be appreciated Smile Cheers.

Everything electrical that has gone squiffy on my ybr has been fixed with a fully charged battery and a big squirt of wd40.

(I never use the electric start anymore... The battery lasts much better if started on the kick...)

I used to have the same non-start... Didn't matter hot or cold, just clicked on the starter? Sometimes taking key out, turning it round would work... But... If on original battery, test it, charge it, c consider replacing it.

Double post...
When the power occasionally cutoff, I'd sometimes get an error code on the engine light... This always related to a power issue to the cdi unit

New battery fixed it

Having had my YBR for over 2 years and ridden it through last winter and this one.
I quickly found the battery hates the cold.
Mines went like this last month when I forgot to plug into Optimate over weekend. Crying or Very sad
Keep it charged up with a trickle charger.
Mines sits outside all day at work under a cover and is in a shed at night plugged into charger.

Works as it should.

Thumbs Up

If you have to rely on trickle charging the battery every night and it fails to start if you forget one weekend then that's not "working as it should" - you have a problem - especially if it sleeps in a garage.

Mine lives outside in all weathers, is never (ever) trickle charged and always starts - it's not a YBR though so mine has a real charging system.

This, my Ducati sat for 7 months in the garage unused, not on charge, fired up after a few seconds of cranking. I would even put money on it starting now after sitting for 5 months Embarassed

Ive just had my clutch plates changed as they were slipping but they are fine now so its not that. Its quite annoying because if it happens mid corner the engine braking might throw me off and kill me Sad

I filled her with petrol and warmed the engine, no troubles whatsoever but before that It would choke constantly. Mostly in 3rd or 4th gear, with 5k+ revs and some times after dying I couldn't start her immediately, engine light would start blinking constantly. What should i do ?

Could the blinking refer to a fault code?

Don't laugh, it's a very real danger.. What if it does happen in a corner? The sudden jolt and rapid deceleration could very well make the rider lose control.. All it takes is one car coming on the other side of the road when you're having a sketchy moment and it's game over.

Engine braking on your shitty, low compression, small engined 125 is a problem mid-corner. So the engine braking on my FZR 1000 exup is going to kill me then?

Then my 1080cc V-twin is going to bring forth the end of the world.

Not me, I am just a plain old fashioned cunt of the highest order.

But seriously, I have had a 125 seize on me mid corner, there is fuck all compression to even lock the back wheel, I've locked the rear wheel several times on my Ducati, all you get is a little wobble from the back end it certainly wont throw you off.

What we are talking about is a 125, a 125 with fuck all power, no compression and certainly no ability to lock the rear wheel, I would be more worried about a pebble throwing me off a 125 than engine braking.
