A pretty nice 30bhp 125 with easy 100mph potential due to the aerodynamics. Yeah I'd happily add one to a 125cc collection, but it would have to be after a Gilera Freestyle 125 and a KTM sting.

Not a bike I'm really familiar with but looks to have potential.

I'd imagine a bit of a marmite bike really, from an aesthetics point of view I quite like it but think it's mostly those wheels that ruin it, they look too much like car wheel trims.

A nice set of open spoke wheels and maybe a different colour scheme and that could be a really nice looking bike Thumbs Up

My favourite unusual-bike blog did an in-depth and rather down-to-earth writeup of this bike:

https://www.odd-bike.com/2013/06/gilera-cx125-beginning-future.html

Certainly an interesting looking machine but you'd find the same front end on Vespa scooters. Dig the rear single-sided swingarm and overall styling though, it's like a jelly mould bike with the curves sliced off at the right places.

It does need some carving off the front end to expose the front wheel. The partially covered wheel look just doesn't work, it's been done on a few cars trying to achieve a 'futuristic' look but is always ugly Thumbs Down

Wouldn't mind one as a project bike that I could hack away at Twisted Evil

That'd be bloody fantastic with a tidy up and new engine in it, KTM smoker maybe? If only I had the money and skilz Sad

If someone makes it into a crap custom like the examples in the ad I will personally track them down and make them eat every last bit of it....grrrrr....

2 plus a crashed one for spares / amusement.

We took a Transit van to Milan in 1991 so Charlotte could buy one new. Unfortunately reliability is not one of its strong points (and it is a nightmare to work on). Front suspension works OK, but a bit of stiction and not that much travel. They claimed it was modelled on aircraft landing gear.

Bought another as a rolling chassis. When I finally get round to sorting it out I will probably try and build it up with more conventional bodywork (top fairing and no lowers).

All the best

Keith

I'd fucking fight bare knuckle to get hold of a cheap Kawasaki Z1300 project bike. The noise of these things on a 6-1 pipe always gives me a raging hard on! Laughing

It will most likely make you sick to know that a customer of mine has 3 and all are chopper/bobber/abominations....

I die inside everytime.

well he needs putting down? Laughing

I like the naked Z1300 look with wide renthals, and lots of turbo nutter/ nitrous kit fitted too!

I do like a proper Japanese engine in a hard tail chopper, instead of a V-twin prehistoric shudderer, but 3 or 4pots of UJM power are plenty in a bike that doesn't handle or steer properly. Wink
