What happened to it, that caused it to need a new wiring loom?

How many teenagers have bodged and butchered the bike in an effort to get an extra 1mph out of it? To completely bugger the loom takes some doing.

any ideas

Sell it to another "mate"?

Stop randomly replacing stuff. Fuel pissed out the carb, so you replaced it? You didn't check the float valve first?

A leaking water pump won't prevent it from starting, so diagnose it methodically.

Is there any charge in the battery? What's the voltage across the terminals?

What state is the spark plug in?

It is sparking strongly?

Is it getting fuel to the carb?

Is it getting fuel though the carb, i.e. is the plug wet?
