Right then, went to look at a K1 GSXR600 at the weekend, that a friend of a friend was selling and now its mine, well deposit paid anyway, 51 plate, one owner from new 4000 miles, full service history, blue flame exhaust, double bubble screen.

Absolutely mint, not been used for a little while so its being serviced and a new mot put on it and i pick it up at the end of this month.

After about 5/6 years without a bike to say i'm excited is an understatement.

As soon as ive got it ill post up some pics Laughing

Subtract MOT and servicing and that's about a tank of leisure use a year.

InB4 tank is rusted out, fuel system is gummed up. Wink

Urm think i'll pass

Already checked if the tank was rusted up and it all looked dandy and runs absolutely fine.

Got it for a decent price so will definitely serve me well for the next few years!!

Considering i was looking at getting a bike in May after ive saved a bit more money, i'd say ive done alright!! Ive already been looking at upgrading bits and pieces too, ive missed having a bike, Im like a kid in a sweet shop!! Think my bank balance is going to get hit hard

circumstances change .. quite often a baby.. it then becomes about time rather than the expense of keepin / runnin the bike.. or some older types keep a collection of bikes the insurance is no longer an issue ....Mortgage is paid, purse strings are loosened.... maintenance is mostly DIY.. so the bike ridden is to suit the purpose or the mood ...
but lastly because we fcukin can... Thumbs Up

Some years I clocked up a few hundred every weekend on top of my weekly commute. Other years didn't commute and didn't clock up any weekend miles.

Ex had a bike for over two years to so call learn on, sold it with less than 600 miles on it and I had done most of those playing silly buggers.

Yeah change in circumstances for the lady i bought it off, she had a kid, thought she would use it more and likes it for the odd day trip away when she could get a baby sitter but came to the conclusion that she wasnt getting the use out of it and decided to sell.

Her loss my gain, the thing looks like it just rolled out the factory, Very happy chappy.

Mmm.

Lady at the end of the road injured her shoulder and couldn't ride her GS500F. It sat there under a cover for at least 3 years, occasionally falling over in high winds and lifted back up by your correspondent never got tits or Gary, before eventually being sold on.

She then bought a brand new XJ600F when they came out in 2010 which went straight under the cover and never moved again, not once, until being sold last summer.

I don't even.
