Has anyone got any experience of these types of things?

Example

My vtr lived in my 8x6 (im guessing a little) sized shed. It had small double doors which gave enough width to reverse the bike in at a slight angle so the doors could close. I havnt yet tried to get the gsxr 1000 in the shed, but I don't think it would be a problem...

I'll be moving in with the woman soon officially and we would live in her house as it's bigger. She also has a shed, which looks to be about the same size, maybe a little wider! Great! Except she has a smaller door and less room to line the bike up in front for a smooth entry.

I've tried getting the gsxr in, it was a faff getting the bike lined up with the door and one I'd got the bike in (reversed in, pushing from the front hands on bars) I realised that the sheds not long enough unless the bike is at an angle but I can't get the bike at an angle because the door isn't wide enough.

So I've got 2 options.

1) widen the shed door which sounds like effort as it'll still be a faff getting the bike turned in the small space.

b) bus something like the above and place it somewhere else in the garden such as by the back door or under the window. Easier to get in and out.

note: there is no where else the shed can go In the garden.
Note 2: I had issues with mold in my last shed, the vtr was green once when I took it out after no use in 6 weeks. Some mold has been present in this shed, and it's brand new.
Note 3: I've already banged her back doors in a few times but there's just not enough space for the bike.

So, thoughts on the tent thing? would they protect a suzuki in winter? Keep it dry and clean? Would it just rust everything?

What other suggestions are there?

Bigger shed won't fit the gap. I've thought about turning the shed round which should make it easier to get it in and out, but door size is still a problem. I'd have to use the grass (well, mud at the moment...its a new build house) and go up an incline going this way.

Had one for a few years in my garden (flats, no sheds allowed Sad Was absolutely fantastic. Never had moisture in it, seat was always dry in the morning, and when disaster struck (chunks of tree fell on it) it valiantly stopped my bike receiving any damage.

The missus never liked the sight of it though, so rubbed her hands together with glee when it got killed and I never got a new one. Do miss it Sad

Sounds good to me.

For ease of use and not having to cut the shed up to make a extra door it sounds Ideal.

There's a grey monster cover which seems good for 129 delivered. I'll measure up when i'm home to make sure it fits.

It also means I've got more room in the shed to dump shit in.

get some big hinges and hang the whole panel as one big door. You would probably have to put a cross 2" x 4" beam between the other panels but would make life easier in the long term.

We used to hinge whole fence panels for taking my old motocross bikes around to the back garden as we didn't have access from the front. Shed then opened from the side and was nice to work on in the summer.

I used one for 2 years. Bear in mind that I live in a pretty rural place in Scotland.

It didn't withstand the weather. The wet got underneath the cover although the worst of the weather was shielded it was just a step up from having a bike outdoors with a cover on the top of it.

I've since upgraded to a 12x6 shed. I modified the doors from 3ft to 6ft to ease access.

But for the bike tent, at 100 quid you're on your way to saving for a decent T&G shed. I'd perhaps try and modify the shed you already have though.

I think I'd be tempted to see if I could take off the side panel of the shed completely, then make a twin door from pallets / fencing panels. Put slabs down across the grass / mud to make a platform outside shed for extra space. Thumbs Up

I couldn't help but chuckle!

Do you have a clause in your insurance that says that the bike's going to be chained and secured? Bucket/waterbutt + concrete + ground anchor + Almax/Pragmasis 16mm chain.

When my blade lived outside, Oxford Stormex cover and ACF 50 on everything seemed to have sorted the bike out. Except now, the Blade is getting re-loomed by it's new owner because the electrical contacts and wiring have corroded!

Else this, if you have a patio or level ground?

Exactly, this is the only sensible solution.
