DIY kids ride-on car charger

I've lost my kids charger to her toy 6V ride-on car, I know that if i shell out the £20-odd quid for a new one.. i'll find it!

So, is there a DIY method i can use to charge it up? I was thinking splitting the end of a similar charger and connecting to the right-angle type connector thats on the car battery.

I might just be being a retard, but worth a check!

£20 is about right to get a charger for that sort of capacity.

Unless you get some cheap tat off Ebay, but you pays your money, you takes your chance.

If you don't already have a motorcycle battery charger, I'd buy one that does both 12 and 6 v. I paid about £15 for mine a few years ago. Have used it to charge car/bike batteries and a set of 6v lead acid torch batteries (BIG torch). Mine has a button to reduce charging current, I've convinced myself I need to press it when charging the torch.

Main benefit is it isn't just a kids toy charger, when she grows out of it you can still charge car/motorcycle batteries too.
