*^%% bollocks, can't sleep, can't eat, chain smoking, grumpy with missus ahhh! Why did I do this to myself?

Can't even have a large Scotch to calm the nerves!

All this worry and it'll likely be cancelled due to weather....again!

I might have to start self harming, the sue the DSA for driving me to it!

I read somewhere that telling people you have the test coming up is a bad idea?

Will report back in 10 hours time Smile

I was so nervous about my mod 2 I couldn't sleep for more than a couple of hours the night before, but then in the morning the nerves started going. By the time I started the test, honestly, I'd run out of the energy to carry on bricking it. I was just focussed on the test.

You'll find in the morning the nerves will start to go and you'll be able to think more clearly. Don't sweat it, it is literally just a 30-35 minute ride. That's 15 minutes out, 15 minutes in. It will feel like 10 minutes tops.

The instructor is a biker too, and wants to see another biker on the roads, he just has to take you out for a quick ride to make sure you're all good Thumbs Up He/she is not looking to catch you out, and they won't try and play tricks with you. Best of luck, and remember, just a short ride and then you're all done.

And hey, even in the unlikely event you don't make it this time, who cares? You can re do it in next to no time, and your licence will be for life, what is a few weeks delay in the grand scheme of things?

Good luck lad, Mod2 is the easy one is just another ride with an experienced rider, just focus.

If a manoeuvre keeps getting repeated pay attention as you might be ballsing it up .

Good luck

Chill out and good luck. Personally though I thought Mod 1 was the easier of the 2, few slow manoeuvres in a controlled environment.

Try being less...

... and more ...

It's just a bleedin' bike ride, no need to get all theatrical about it.

Thanks guys.

I passed Very Happy

Nervous wreck rode worse than I had been during training, even used front brake at a junction to stop..wtf! Was convinced I had failed. 5 minors but I can live with that.

Will shortly be riding my little 125 Shadow for the last time as I'll be heading up to Two Wheels to collect new CBR650F.

Happy as a pig in poop.

I was in bare feet so couldn't use them unfortunately, no legal requirement for proper footwear so I thought what the heck and went out naked with exception of a helmet. Razz

Back brake for slow control should have been used i do believe.

Anyway not to worry as I'm now an expert bike rider i'm off out to see if I can do 300m wheelie at 120 mph, then immediately do a stoppy, all up the main highstreet! Razz

But you weren't doing 'slow control', you were stopping. For stopping you should use the most effective brake, which is the front.

I recommend you actually do worry about it at every given opportunity.

In fact, you should worry about it so much that you have to start a "which brake should I use" thread at least every 2 months. That should help things along nicely.

See, the test itself was nothing to fret over now was it?

Might be a bit of an ask for the Shadow. Whistle

Nice one, enjoy the CBR. Thumbs Up

Well played, nobody likes tests. Very Happy

I believe my CB500 has had 4 owners now, 13k miles and its '99 bike.
It still has the original brake pads on the rear.
I haven't measured them, but compared to a new set of pads, they're barely used.
