I'm new to motorcycles (have come from scooters). When I ride my Varadero beside buildings or hedges, I hear sound from the drivetrain on my left (presumably the sound is bouncing back at me?). Is this normal?

The chain is fairly new, and was cleaned and lubed last week. It looks like the previous owner may have only replaced the chain and not the sprocket too.
