I've been contemplating dumping my Rz350 in favor of a FZR400RR. the only problem being i just read your "Guide to pulling wheelies" and it stats "as you still don't have enough power on the throttle to re-lift the bike if it falls too far from the balance point. However, what you do have now is the ability to lift the bike to that sacred point a lot easier!". so my question is can these bikes loft the front end with a blip from the throttle or does it really require this much effort?

A 400 doesn't have enough power to do a power wheelie, unless you down gear it a lot which you don't really want to do. The only way a 400 will wheelie is with a little bit of help fromt the clutch. Very Happy

There is more to a 400 than wheelieing Sad and if you have seen zim`s pictures or G`s then you will see they are perfectly capable of doing it. Thumbs Up

I love the looks of all the recent 400 and there all suppose to be fairly good handling bikes. Have you ever seen a Rz350 not the best looking bike on the planet. I guess i am looking for 2 stroke power with four stroke reliability.

I had an rd350 (UK name for RZ350) and allthough mine didn't really come up off the power it definitily did wheelie a bit easier than most 400s. However with a bit of clutch 400s aren't /that/ bad and you've got more revs to play with.
Downgear them a tad and it's much better as well Thumbs Up.

So Fzr 400's are that good of a bike.. I may be better off with a larger displacement 2 stroke. I am trying to avoid insurance pitfalls, my insurance broker is only interested in engine displacement. All the other brokers in my area have 2 strokes bikes "black listed" meaning i should be paying the same premiums
as people with 600cc bikes.
