Hi all,

First time needing to buy a new tyre for a big bike, would appreciate some help on what to look at.

The ER6 needs a new rear tyre as mine is getting a little tetchy going around some of these corners, mostly because it is box shaped now lol
One of my recent ride outs highlighted I do not have as much confidence in going around corners as it felt as though it was going to give out at any moment.

Any recommendations on tyre type?
I have Dunlop sportmax D222's or something already on there,
Looking at Michelin Pilot 3's also
I like the look of Pirelli Diablo Rosso's but not sure if they are bit too OTT for mine.

I do a lot of motorway miles but still like to chuck it about some lanes. I would still like it to last a little longer, i think nearly 7k miles on a bike tyre is pretty reasonable?

Go to https://www.blackcircles.com/ and enter your reg number to see what they recommend.

I've heard Conti Road Attack's are pretty good on the ER6.

PR3s and BT23s should both last 8k. Towards the end of that, if you do a lot of motorway, you will start getting "corners" on your tyre, but I don't think you can help it.

Just fitted a set of Avon Storm 11 Ultras to my 08 ER6F, they are on special everywhere for £150 a set.

I can't say I am too impressed by them. I think i may try PR3's or maybe PR4's depending on how much i get quoted.

I am surprised though because it looks as though they are a premium tyre.[/url]
