Currently at the beginning of a 2 week wait while insurance sit on arse waiting for plod to 'stumble upon' my stolen CG.
My question is, what are people's experiences in terms of what they got back money wise for a theft claim - in the case that the bike was not recovered.
I bought bike for £600, this was stated on my policy. I'm guessing they'd possibly use this as part of their calculations when forming their assessment?
I don't expect much, but would be good to hear what experiences people have had, and what haggling has been done if any...?
My insurance is with Devitt (although RAC seem to be the front men) claim is being handled by ULR as broker, but the policy is underwritten by equity red star if this makes any sense....

Cost less to buy another 125. Pointless doing a theft claim.

If you are desperate for a bike I'm sure I can either sell you a 600 quid CBR or you can borrow my GP when I fit the new bits to it.

Yeah, to be honest I kind of regret it, but it's done now. A small part of me would like it yo be recovered. I wouldn't mind having to repair it.
Not really sure why I did it. Gives me an excuse to rang if they are the wankers you think they are. Might just get a cheap car. Never gonna get round to big boy licence any time this year so may give it a rest with the bike ting for now.

They're not going to give you more than the value you told them, and they might offer less. So, what is the excess?

Is that the voluntary or the compulsory. Or both added together....

They will quite likely cancel the policy.
How long left to run on the policy and how much to get a new one as opposed to swap this over to a new bike.

Quite possible even in the short term you'll be worse off claiming.
