I'm getting a rather annoying issue where I need a particular screen to be the "active" window all the time on a 4 screen setup.

I have Display Fusion and it has a very close feature called "Prevent Window DeActivation" but it disables all key strokes on all the other monitors!

I've searched around for this and can't seem to find anything.

All I want to do is force Google Chrome to stay active, no matter what I'm doing on the other monitors... any ideas?

Not sure if there is a way around it as the moment you use a different window, or click on the desktop, that window is not longer the window you are working in.

Bit more info would help, like what is the program running that the active windows belongs to?

Ok...

I trade and need to use 4/5 monitors at once. I also use a piece of software that requires a browser window to be active for the software to work.

All my screens will have different instances of Chrome running, charts, brokers, etc.

I need to make sure that one of those instances of Chrome, stays active at all times, even if I'm clicking about on any one of the other screens.

Don't even know if that's possible or not.

Display Fusion is the closest I've seen to achieving this but obviously can't have it locking all the other screens as I need to use them.

The only solution I'm thinking of right now is running another PC, just with this browser window open all day!

If you were to auto-refresh the webpage every 5 seconds would that do?

Have you tried the webpage in another browser?
It might refresh the info when using FF or even the dreaded IE

Nope, has to be open all day, every day without the need of refreshing, otherwise it will fuck with the software I use.

DF is so close but it makes perfect sense to disable all other monitors clicks, as this would naturally de-activate any window... as it does normally.

Will it stay active though if I have the VM maximised on one of the screens? Should do?

Should even be active if the VM is minimised as the Chrome instance will be active in the VM all the time.

Will sound come out of the VM too?

Basically, what this software does is monitor pairs for me. I set conditions and markers that I want to see it hit... when they hit, I've scripted a bell alarm mp3 to play, so I can quickly go check the pair and double check everything.

So if the VM is running somewhere, whether full screen or minimised it should still play the sound out my speakers?

As long as it is the active window within the VM it should work even when the VM client is no longer the active window.
