Well the verdict is in...

Dropped the "driving not in accordance" and I got 6 points and £400 fine.

Oh thank the messiah!!!

Let me just link to the original thread for you, and can I get you a blowjob from the fridge while I'm up?

Nice one, presumably the CPS looked at the licensing laws and just made panicked mumbling sounds. Thumbs UpWinkThumbs Up

Bit Relieved is an understatement... but I'm not out of the woods yet, I currently have 3 points and if you add that to the 6, then I'm on very thin ice... Been driving around slower than granny smith.

Thank you Roger for keeping a uniform order in second part thread posts Very Happy

And M-C, no I was not, also like how I was not actually restricted ether. Good barrister is good barrister, he had a word with the the magistrates involved beforehand after I had explained the predicament to him and when I walked in the other charge was dropped. Pleased Guilty to speeding like I said I would and job jobbed.

From what I can tell from my notes, he's grandfather-revoked in after being suspended inversely and disqualibanned while on double-secret probation.

I doubt the DVLA can even figure it out by now.

Sounds about right... Sick All I care is keeping my pass certs from my test has payed off a million. On the cert is shows the day of pass and it was that cert that enabled me to prove it to the courts.

They dropped the OIAWL charge because like always they throw as many charges at you at once and hope at least one sticks.

Your solicitor probably gently reminded them that they had no proof of the bikes power output too. Would have most likely been thrown out with any challenge anyhow.

Good on you for fighting though.

Comment about the barrister supports the notion that its 50% about how you behave and what you say outside of court that swings the verdict. After all its just a boys club.

[pedant] Almost certainly not a barrister in the mags court, unless you splashed out loadsamoney for one. That would be a solicitor. [/pedant]

With some inside knowledge of how these things work, I'd be surprised if the solicitor "had a word with the magistrates". It's not the magistrates' decision to drop a charge anyway. More likely spoke to the CPS and offered a guilty plea to the speeding if they dropped the license offence. There's a lot of pressure on prosecutors at the moment to go along with that kind of thing to save the cost and hassle of a trial, especially where the speeding was the more serious of the two anyway.

Steve.
