Hello,
recently I bought a second hand yamaha fz16 from a real first owner. I am unable to find the chassis number of the bike anywhere around the black stem infront of the petrol tank. I can find the number in my friend's new fz-s bike on the right side of the black stem. But I can see the engine number which is correct as per the RC and it is visible from bottom of the engine.
1> So, I am a bit confused about the chassis number now. If I am unable to find it will it be a problem ?
2> Will the chassis number be there anywhere else other than the right side of black stem in front of the petrol tank?
3> What can I do if I am unable to find the chassis number? Can I engrave it by any way?

Doubt if you'll find a chassis number on a FZ16.....because there is no such bike!!!

Might have bought yourself a ringer from a "real" first owner.

Hi,
But I can see the engine number which is proper. And I am sure I bought it from a genuine person and I am still in contact with that person. So I am feeling because of some servicing or paint work or some thing like that the chassis number might have got scratched away or some thing like that. Or else the chassis number for yamaha fz16 old model bikes will not be on the handle stem.
What do you think?

There is no such thing as an FZ16.

Ah, my mistake, it's an Indonesian model... It should still have the chassis number on the right hand side of the headstock.
