Evening all, without managing to find one dead local to go and have a try of, what is the riding position like on the zx9r vs the zzr600?

zzr felt like it was made for me, could ride all day every day with no discomfort at all.... obviously the zx is more sporty a proposition, but from everything I've read, it suffered the same "kawasaki got it a bit wrong on the softness and it became a tourer".. predicament as the zzr.

so how "soft" is it... comparable to zzr? half way house?

I don't think it's a million miles off of the ZZR. It's been a while since I sat on one, but I recall they are quite comfortable.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Pretty comfy. Mine is the C model. Less of a harsh riding position than the GSXR.

I've had both, and would say they're very similar. If you're used to a zzr you'll get on fine with a 9r.

Very comfortable, and most noticeably a very stable bike. I used mine for my daily commute clocking up 300 miles a week.

I also had a 7r, now that's a different story, pure race bread and riding position is mental. I had this at the same time as the zzr and used it for dry days, where the zzr was my wet weather hack.

I sold both and got the 9r which was a great compromise. Not as full sports as the 7r but much better all round for the journey I was doing. I'd easily have another one.

In fact I just posted up some pics.

I have both, and while the ZX9R is more comfortable in comparison to other full on sports bikes (think R6 etc), it most definitely isn't comparable to the ZZR 600 in regards to comfort.

The ZZR 600 is a very upright riding position, whereas the 9R definitely is more of a lean forward. Like has been already said, it's not as bad as the 7R though.

I've got the C model,second C model that I've had.

Its a very comfy bike, not too harsh on the wrists as the bars are slightly higher than most, the clip ons are above the yoke.

The legs are also in a better position but there's things you can do to improve the riding position depending on how comfy you need it to be,risers, renthal bars, adjustable rearsets etc.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum I prefer a more aggressive riding position which I get from the 4xv r1 and soon to be 5pw r1.

If you ride a sports bike and you are in pain, your wrists, you are doing it wrong. Anyway, I've got a ZXR P1, which is more or less the same as a ZX9R, and it is very comfortable motorcycle, even at high speeds on rough tar. Thumbs Up

Clutch the tank with your knees and do not push the bars with your hands. You will experience even better handling riding it this way. Cool

Then I'd say the 9r would be perfect.
