What exactly do you mean, a tool to remove pistons or a tool to refit them in the caliper?

A tool to make pushing them back in after cleaning a little easier. My tool for my car pulls and pushes the piston in and out the caliper, but the piston itself screws into the caliper.

CaNsA, I'll have a look and see if that is what I'm after.

Your thumb, if you need anything else they need further cleaning.

I've seen surgical instruments less clean than my pistons appear right now. Does that mean that my brake seals likely need replacing?

Did you clean all the corrosion out from behind the dust seals? I cleaned my calipers once but didn't get all the grub out from behind there, just most of it, and the pistons wouldn't push past the dust seals as they were still sitting too proud. Cleaned again and popped in easy Thumbs Up

it's inside the grooves where the seals sit that need cleaning.

If they are clean then you're porbably not pushing them in straight

+1 for thumbs. Clean pistons and ensure there's a sufficient air gap in the M/C reservoir, or do it with the cover loose and sufficient towelling catch any ejaculations.

This is the kind of tool you're looking for: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-AK7112-Disc-Brake-Spreader/dp/B000RO3QQY/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_1_2

You shouldn't be having a super hard time getting them to move with fingers / thumbs though. I only use the above when I have no time to get deeper into things, and I don't use too much force.

For example, there is zero probability of me draining the brake fluid from my VFR's calipers to clean behind seals, because the linked ABS brake system is very tedious to bleed. If those brakes lose feel or stick, it's going to a dealer.
