Yamaha MT-09 (Tracer) is very popular and Suzuki managed to get to 6th which isn't bad considering they'd dropped off completely not long ago.

It really surprises me that Ducati are so low, considering they're at their best point financially in god knows how long and their bikes are more competitive than ever. I feel like buying one out of pity.

It's just UK
All their bikes are bloody expensive, how many expensive/high profit margin bikes did Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki sell when you discount the tiddlers.

Granted most Ducati's are expensive.

Yamaha out registered sold Ducati with just the MT-09 Tracer and MT-07. The MT-09 is only a couple of £100 cheaper than a hypermotard or 821 monster. They've got the scrambler which is quite a bit cheaper in all of its 5 guises. I wonder how many out of all the bikes in the Ducati figures are scramblers and not anything from their expensive range. Obviously it's less than 333 at best, 107 at worst. Which category is the scrambler in ?

New bike sales appear to be strongly driven by novelty. Gotta have the latest model with electronically adjustable fully dynamic anti skid clit vibrator.

Then there's whatever Suzuki's strategy is. Whistle

It would be interesting to see this table by value, rather than number of units

I wonder if done by value whether HD would top the tables as all their bikes cost an arm and two legs from what I have seen?

Very possibly. BMW and Triumph don't exactly give their bikes away either, and neither have budget 125s to prop up the numbers.

ducati's have been arriving late this year, the scramblers, new multistradas and the new 1299 superbike are only just starting to arrive and the diavel dark looks a load better than the carbon version plus its three grand cheaper and they're not easy to find in stock

Ducati dealer near (not that near really) has just completed an extension and refurb.. lots of new bikes in there... must resist

Indeed, both trumpets and beemers are not cheap, both beyond my budget.

It's just the bike hating UK market statistics. Numbers will be much higher in France, Spain, Italy, Germany etc.. Then you've got markets like USA.

On a separate note, WTF is Adventure/Sport? The only adventure sport I know to do with motorcycles would be something like a rally raid. The MT09 certainly isn't suitable for that.
