Hi dont think of me as bad i dont like peds i used to have a nice rs125 but downgraded as moving away soon need to get from a to b for 2 months...

it has a 70cc bore kit and various transmission mods, at first there was an airleak between the inlet and the carb, so i bought a new carb and inlet system.
could not set it up for the life of me.
took it to the garage to get sorted 2 hours labour promised was running.

after i took it out on the road, it has less power, was bogging out at WOT so most likely main jet. eventually cut out whilst decellerating. started up again 2 mins after.

the same thing happened just an hour ago, felt abit like a seizure and now i cant start it had to walk it back to my office. removed the spark plug it is a perfect chocolate brown, the engine appears to still spin when i hit the electric start and have a look into the barrel.
still wont start and now the batteries gone abit weak due to trying for so long, any ideas whats happened, has it seized?

other issues it has a warped float bowl so leaks fuel and the fuel tap diaphragm is constantly letting petrol out so vaccum is useless, ive ordered a new tap was going to fit it once it arrives.
will contact the garage tomorow but any brief ideas???

thanks,
niall

Sell or trade it in to get an un-meddled 4 stroke 125.

With hindsight, you'll realise how helpful this answer is.

Over to Iain for the super-pederasty.

You're a bad person. Peds are awesome.

How did you warp a float bowl on a brand new carburettor?

    What carburettor?

How did you diagnose an air leak on the inlet?

    Which one?

How much mileage is on it?

    Did you install it?

If you look up the exhaust port and rotate the engine over by hand is the piston heavily scratched?

Best guess the top ends lunched itself due to poor jetting when cylinder was initially fitted. Mechanics are sorting the fuelling out, then the engines eating itself a bit more and requiring different fuelling to sort itself out making it impossible to set up.

I don't get it. Why didn't you just get yourself a bog standard commuter hack like a YBR125 if all you want to do is get from A to B?
This feels more like a just for fun project.

Because YBR's can rarely be had for around the £100 mark, whereas tuned scoots with setup issues can regularily be found for those monies Wink

My 2011 Baotian set me back £140 with 1900 miles on it. It cost under £50 to get it MOT'd and usable on the road before I mucked about with it.

So either the float is fucked, the float bowl is fucked, or the entire carburettor is fucked.

Which?
