Mine is on its last legs.
Need a new one before mot.
Problem is its a custom ybr so I think the different to the normal exhausts well look really different.
Is there any aftermarket cheaper exhausts to fit then the expensive hard to get hold of custom .
Cheers

Heh, I used to have a YBR Custom. Yes the exhaust is made of chocolate. Yes, a new Custom exhaust will rush you about 500 quid. No, another exhaust doesn't quite fit on without some modification to the hanger bracket. Bit of welding and bracket manufacturing required m'fraid.

If you can weld up the existing exhaust then do so and get shot of it. That's precisely what I ended up doing.

Jesus wept.

Does the Yamaha-Jianshe exhaust have an O2 sensor?

If not, then the Jianshe JS125-6c exhaust might fit.

Learner Legal / LS Imports stock plenty of spare parts although they don't exactly headline it. Prices were historically pretty good.

No, no O2 sensor it's just insanely expensive because no-one stocks it and they don't sell many.

tbh, better off looking at breakers yards or eBay. That said, the shitty mild steel will be just as knackered on a used one. I found they'd only last about two seasons if you were lucky.

The Jianshe exhaust won't fit btw, again the hanger bracket is the cockblock.

Sad

Was it a Jianshe one you tried?

... and I'd wonder if that's a Jianshe part. I mean, part made for the Jianshe branded bike, I'd expect it'll be a Jianshe-made part either way. Wink

If the end can is shagged but the downpipe is saveable then chop the can off, sand, VHT paint and wrap the pipe and bolt one of these on the end https://www.classicbikeshop.co.uk/slash-cut-extension-exhaust-1-3-4.html . Paint, wrap and the end can under £50 all in.

It's for the custom YBR - the Yamaha model number is given as 27S1

The standard YBR (ED) for example has a model number of 3D99.

What, you mean actually customise a YBR Custom? Eh? Laughing

It could be a first.

Try cleaning it up with some sandpaper and elbow grease, you'll get an idea of how set in that rust is then, I'd bet it's not as bad as you think. If it cleans up well then VHT paint it, if it's a bit rough then VHT it and then exhaust wrap it (to hide the roughness).
