hi does anyone have any experience with a bt49qt as i cant get mine to rev at all , it starts fine and some days it will rev perfectly normal for a few moments but then it just dies so if i let go of the throttle it idles normally but if i try to rev it it just revs a bit as if trying but holding back,,, i have bypassed the fuel tank to eliminate fuel contamination and fed the carb with fresh fuel from another scource but it still dies,, i have fitted a new plug and its still the same,, could it be the ht coil or the cdi??? its a 2012 on a 62 plate with just 1000km on the clock, any help appreciated, regards'

shoulda wiki'd it
I wiki'd bt49 and
quote:
"The Brabham BT49 /ˈbræbəm/ is a Formula One racing car designed by South African Gordon Murray for the British Brabham team"

I know Baotioan make a 50cc scoot called a BT49 but it can't be that cos surely the Op would have fuckin said so and not expected others to make fucking guesses?

If you don't know what the OP is talking about, then you can't give him any advice..... simples.
Boation BT models seem to be on the better side of Chinese build quality, done quite a few in my time.
Its most likely to be an air leak at the carb / head mounting, or a blocked main jet. Easy to get to the carb for service, just take out the storage tub under the seat.

clean the carb

check the auto choke

I had a 2006 qt11 with same engine and ended up cleaning the carb every month to keep it running smooth

To the OP, has anyone mucked about with the engine? I know it's rather common for people to put the 70cc kit on them

Also Skudd and WD Forte no offence but why reply in a thread when you don't know what the OP is on about? As soon as I seen the BT49 I knew it was a 50cc Chinese scooter.

So that rules out 99.9% of threads in workshop getting any replies then Laughing

It was tongue in cheek and I really didn't know what it was until I Google imaged it. I do need to keep up with all these new makes.
Hope OP gets it sorted. Thumbs Up

I only knew about them a few years ago after some little scrote asked me to repair his.... after buying all the parts, stripping and rebuilding the engine (twice), he told me to f**k off that I wasn't getting any money... then starts threatening me Rolling Eyes
