Do you have google chrome?
Search for, and add, the Zenmate extension.
It lets you connect via servers in other countries, including the US.
There's probably a version of it for firefox etc too.
Only problem is I'm not sure what the deal is with it. When I downloaded it it was pretty new and it was free, I can't remember if I read something saying they were gonna turn it into a paying service at some point.
Worth a shot anyway  |

I've installed it and switched my location to USA and Hong Kong but no luck, maybe it's because I'm hooked up to a work server.
It's just irritating as I didn't have this problem last week. Anyway no worries, thanks for your help

Personally I rent a micro VPS instance that costs about 5 USD a year, from a deal I found on lowendbox.com. See for example this. I connect using ssh -D, which gives me a local SOCKS proxy. At home, I use FoxyProxy in Firefox to control whether to use the proxy on a case by case basis - by matching a regex against the URL, for example. Very handy for evading government censorship.
But Zenmate is the way to go for the moment, since they're giving the traffic away free (for now).
