Notorious piles of shit or reliable Italian ( Laughing )

Has anyone owned one? Long term? General opinions?

Looking at a Brutale 675 as a 2nd bike.

My Kung Fu teacher has a F4 1000 Senna. He's had no end of problems with it. It overheats constantly, and he's had it sent back for new head gaskets, thermostats and all sorts and it's still not sorted. He loves the bike, but it's an expensive white elephant in lots of ways. It's a beautiful piece of art, and it's devastatingly quick, but the unreliability and parts availability seem to ruin it. Especially as he spent quite a lot of money on it.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

A friend had an F4 and it had the same overheating problems Marjay stated.

It is a beautiful bike though, so he could admire it while waiting for the AA.

I have no knowledge of the Brutale so can't say if that is better or not.

I know somebody with an older 750 Brutale. Lovely bikes to look at but the older models were criticised for poor build quality when MV were running out of money. I reckon most MVs are garage queens so the problems don't show too much, apart from dead batteries. The 675 has been built down to a price so who knows?

The only 675 you require is the Street Triple.

A friend of mine had an F4 and we were stood admiring it glistening in his garage when the headlight glass just fell out and crashed on the floor.

I laughed a lot more than he did, let's just say that.

i was at big ride out at Luton Carnival in 2005.................MV Augusta had pissed its coolant all over the tarmac........

i so want one but too scared as Italian bikes have left me traumatised after the constant problems i had with my aprilia RS125 and aprilia terrible time frame for sending parts out.........

so i stuck with Japanese bikes after ever since

At least, from what I've been reading, the MV Agusta would have had the decency to catch fire to finish the job.

The real pity is that they have used one of the most famous names in motorcycling and put it on a new bike that has nothing what so ever to do with the original, this really bothers me, i hate it.
Just like this weeks MCN with the 'new' Brough Superior' cant be long before the Chinese cotton on to this and we end up with a raft of old bike names reappearing, at least Silk had the decency to use an original name.

I'd prefer a Ducati if I were putting out that kinda dough .

Plus they are pretty reliable post 998.
