How did you get that for £100? What's wrong with it? Wink

Red, big bore exhaust, should be good for the ton. Whistle

£100? Bloody hell that's a good buy.

I quite miss my YBR, would be cool to have a 125 again to pootle around on.

Hope you enjoy your CBT - remember it isn't a test so don't worry about failing, it seems pretty difficult for them to refuse you a certificate. The guy I rode with on my CBT didn't speak a word of English, I believe he was Polish. He got lost umpteen times as he couldn't understand the directions on the ear piece. However he still got signed off.

I bought it in bits, the previous owner had decided the gearbox had failed and had taken it almost completly to bits, took the right hand engine case off to find a worn selctor fork, two spots of weld and 15 mins with a file saw it good as new and back in 1 peice flew through mot the following day,
Gotta love a bargain

I have dicovered welding is rather fun, i made the exhaust on the exhaust on the bike from parts of the original exhaust an mx5 mid pipe resonator and the nice stainless tip from the same mx5 exhaust, fit is perfect and looks spot on in my mind

already looking into a bigger bike, probably not the best of ideas right now but liking the old super dreams, i know they wont be much if any faster than my cg but i prefer the older style bikes, any one know if i could ride the 400n dream on an 33bhp restricted licence?

Yes you could. Thumbs Up

You could, past tense, since you can't get a 33bhp (25kW) license any more. That license hasn't been available since 2013. Sad

What you've got now is:

A1: get it on an 11kW 125, lets you ride an 11kW 125 without L plates, using motorways, and taking a pillion.

A2: get it on a 395cc+ bike making between 20kW - 35kW. You can only legally ride such a bike on the road while on test or while accompanied by a certified DAS instructor. Lets you ride any capacity bike making up to 35kW, including one that's been restricted down from a bike that claimed up to 70kW as standard.

A: get it on a 595cc+ bike making at least 40kW. Lets you ride any bike.

I am really hyped up about getting cbt done, my dad has an old 84/85 cb750f that im going to drag up my workshop and return to running order for him after it had electrical issues in france, would be nice to get out scratching with him on something able to keep up, it was dads cb that kicked off my liking of that era hondas really hence the superdream, dont want to ride 1 of these new fangled angles and curves allover the place crotch rockets gimme an oldie any daday. Im the same with my cars i own 2 1993 mazda mx5's and a 1985 mini, much prefer the older less electronicly controled cars and bikes

I agree, up to a point - the CANBUS on my BMW fills me with foreboding. But then I'd like my Enfield to require just a bit less spannering.

Bonneville or W800 might be reasonable compromises: how do you fancy them?

You're going to end up with an EFI enfield sooner or later.

Probably, but I wouldn't recommend one for riding in company with a CB750F. CB125F would be more its speed. Wink
