Ok been a while but my missus is used to her wee bike now as it took a lot of time getting it low for her..
Read somewhere that there is a sprocket mod for more speed (well just a tad) anyone know the link or what sprockets to use?

Also took the air filter out (foam type) and it basically just fell apart in my hand when doing an inspection.
Any link or parts or where to get one?

This type

There is no such a thing as sprocket mod and I would not advice you to try ''gain'' speed fiddling with the final drive gear ratio, since the small 125cc single cylinder has just enough torque to barely move the wheel with the ratio it's got from the factory.

Anyway,
Top speed = less teeth back or more teeth front (not gonna work on your bike)
Acceleration = more teeth back or less teeth front (will work, but it'll ruin the MPG)

In real life, there's always place for better acceleration, but there's no place for more speed I'm afraid. If you can rev the engine barely up to the top at the top gear with the factory final drive gear ratio, that's about as good as it gets. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply I know that going UP one tooth in front gives you a higher top speed but a little less acceleration. Going DOWN 1 tooth in front gives you quicker acceleration but a lower top end.

But top gearing on this bike doesnt seem like it wants to pull you its just a tad faster from go shes looking for, like overtaking etc...

So say go down one tooth in front , need a chain to fit then right?

Is there an air filter or free flow type for this bike as the foam one I am not that keen on

The bike has got long top gear to get better MPG, getting a bit more acceleration will actually move the top speed up a bit, but not much. It's definitely not worth the worse MPG and more engine heat.

Take one tooth out of the front sprocket, the chain tensioners should cover the difference so you won't need to cut or get a new chain.

The filter, can't find it. Thumbs Down

You can just measure the diameter of the carb and buy a cheap cone filter on eBay to put on it. You'd then need to fart about upjetting the carb though, easier to just replace the foam one.

Drop a tooth on the front sprocket if she wants more oomph but you'll lose top end. You can get less result adding teeth to the rear, a rough guide is 1 tooth on/off the front is equivalent to 3 off/on the rear. You are never going to get blazing overtakes riding a cg copy engine though, if it makes it to a bit past 60 Mph I'd leave the sprocket sizes alone personally, no point getting to 30 a bit quicker if you can't make NSL.

If she wants to go faster tell her to get a proper licence.

Shes after my CBR but no chance of that Laughing

Would replace the foam filter but cant find it unless I find the right type of foam to make one with a glue gun or something
