Well Having been a CBT trained newbie rider for a total of week... Took my first tumble..

Gravel on a bend. Lost grip for maybe 2 seconds.. and as i tried to grab it back. hit the kerb.

Lucky for me. was fully kitted and my leather trousers took a lot of the damage. I got away with a few bruises and a slightly cracked helmet (which was a mates old one lucky) .

I got really lucky though a Biker in a car saw it happen and drove all the way back just to help me out. first help lift the bike off my leg...then calm me. explain the bike might be a sluggish for a bit which i wouldn't have been ready for otherwise.

Lucky in way only damage is a ruined badge on the tank. broken indicator and a bend brake lever. Goes in for repair tomorrow.

But i doubt he even reads this. but if by any chance he does. and you happened to help a slightly bruised rider on a red el125 near ashby. I didn't get chance to say thank you Smile

P.S. I got back on and still love riding as much as before...

Ta

Have a virtual drink on me. You are a proper biker now. Feel free to wow and amaze your friends with tales of your big-off....which will no doubt get bigger with the telling Wink

Ah well, happens to most of us eventually.

May all your spills be little ones (including beer).

Never mind, Maccy, the bruises and your pride will heal.

Have a beer on me.

Cheers, Sadie

Sorry to hear that
Live and learn, bro.

We all will come off sooner or later. No-one, never comes off. Hope it hasn't put you off or knocked you're confidence too badly.

You will learn to avoid such things in future, just takes experiance.

Good luck, and safe riding. Thumbs Up

Yeah unlucky, I'll never forget the slight accident I had in a McDonalds car park. More pride hurt than anything (damn them having huge glass windows and me being on a rideout)

passers by are a godsend - on a trail on my mountain bike a year ago i came off at high speed (downhill section) face hit the floor, teeth came through my face and bars went through my arm blah blah blah - luckly enough a passer by came and picked me up/went to hospital etc.

thankyou Thumbs Up

To give you a guide, when telling the tale in the pub you should start -

" I was doing 110 into this 90 degree lefthander when I hit gravel. Obviously, as I was on the edge of the tyre the front wheel washed out and I couldn`t save it on the back as I was drifting it. After sliding across the road between two cars (`cause I held it on my knee), I got the grip back but it was too late and I highsided it. Luckily a biker in a car some ways behind saw me fly above the hedge and stopped for me......."

etc. etc Wink Laughing

I hope this helps in your future biking career, and am glad you didn`t get badly banged up.
