assuming you've tried both on and are just after opinions on aesthetic appeal and general owner thoughts?

Edit: I vote K3.. have been using mine for just over a year and it's a great fit and not too noisy as long as the chin curtain is on.
Only complaint is in heavy rain the top seal between the visor and helmet lets water through. Could just be mine, but it happens. Thumbs Up

I have tried on neither helmet as long as it is black I do not care about what it looks like.

I am looking for a comfy quite helmet I can wear for hours on end which one is better at this?

Comfort depends on the shape of your head. If you look like the kid from Hey Arnold then a helmet made for someone who looks like Spongebob won't be a good fit.

Brave it and get yourself to a shop and try both on, it'll be worth it on the long run.

I voted K3.

Ive no experience of either.

However, It was the first one of the 2 options.

I once tried on an AGV helmet and liked it, cant remember which one.

Thats the entire basis of my vote.

You can't size a bike helmet like that - they're all different. Get over your people / shopping thing and go do it properly.

I've never gone to a shop and tried on helmets my Shoei raid small fits perfect so would a AGV small/xs fit?

I don't know, it's your head. However, from my experience of trying on AGV helmets, I did not find them comfortable, regardless of the size. My Shoei fits great though.

Take from that what you will, but it's probably meaningless because it's my head shape and not yours I'm drawing reference from.

How do you know if something fits perfectly when you haven't tried on lots of others?

Sizes vary from brand to brand and from model to model.

It's a bit of a silly question coming from someone who is meant to be pscyologically tweaked to be superior. Wink

Another n00b mistake. Getting the right fit in a helmet can make a huge difference to your riding experience. With a good fit, you will have a helmet that is quieter, more comfortable, less draughty, less buffeted by the air flow, and give you much better protection in the event of an off.

Try to put your shyness in the face of real people behind you, it can pay off in oh so many ways. Assuming you can do it without rubbing em up the wrong way, which depends on how much of your daftness is real, and how much an act I suppose.

But do you even know how to judge what's a good fit? It's not something everyone knows how to do properly.

I have had helmets that I thought fitted ok, until I found what really, actually, did. You'll only find that by trying on lots of different ones, but it'll be worth it if you get it right.

This.
I bought my Shoei Qwest 3 years ago and apart from my Shoei Raid which was bought about 8 months or so later, I haven't found anything that fits as well and I've been to lots of places and tried lots on.
Certainly Arai and AVG are not for me, the only other make that came close in terms of fit was a prohibitively expensive Schuberth model.

Either will do,

Lets face it you've got nothing worth protecting in there so you just buy the cheapest

I had an AGV K3 and hated it. Cheap, nasty and noisy. Walked away from a big crash with a huge graze down it and not concussed though, so it worked OK.

AGV K3 SV > AGV K3.

K3 SV is better in more ways than including a sun visor, seriously.. try it out or on Laughing

I'm using a K3 at the moment, and it is a bit windy on the motorways but it doesn't kill my ears. I've had it for about a year and a half now and had no problems. could do with a new visor but tbh i'm thinking of changing for a Reevu lid next week, so i'll see.
