Lidl are doing their bike gear special buys at the start of March.

Helmet, base layers, gloves, bluetooth intercom and a few other bits.

Good find, I was thinking the other day it's around now they bring the bike stuff out.

The Bluetooth kit looks alright if it's anything like the highly reviewed kit off amazon. Pillion mic is a bonus.

Did anyone actually buy those? I couldn't even fit an XL on my bonce and I normally take a M or L. It struck me the size labels were overexaggerated. I'd assume the M is about the same as most Small's unless someone's tried it and knows differently.

hi,
these helmets, do they have a built in sun visor, like the cabergs etc?
& those base layer things, any good?
they seem to sell different types for biking,ski-ing, cycling etc & have differing prices.
im wondering what the best ones are. anyone have any experience of these things?
the wee socket sets they are selling are actually quite decent Wink

cheers,
GAZ
PS : aldi is doing weird shaped allen keys & bit sets from thu

I had one (two in fact) of the bt intercom sets and except for developing faults within the first couple of weeks, they were great...music was nice and clear and it was easy to hear and be heard when calling somebody and was easy to use with gloves on.
(A friend of mine has had his for two years without issue so i think mine were just duff)

The lidl version doesn't look as easy to use as the BT set was, so with no reviews of the lidl set, i'd be more inclined to pay a tad bit extra and get another interphone.

Anyone got experience with lidl tools? Need a socket set and this looks like a good price for what you apparently get.

Bit of an fyi, I still have the gloves from last year, they're good in the dry but waterproofing fades quickly and my fingers have been frozen solid getting into work this month so not good for cold weather at all.

Also have the helmet under a bed somewhere too, I remember it being pretty noisy and really not anti fog in the slightest! Swapped it for an rst one and haven't touched it since, def in the helmets case it's buy cheap buy twice! (3 times as he rst is getting swapped soon too lol)

The boots, balaclava, tank bag, base layers and possibly blue tooth set could def be getting bought though.

The Aldi boots feel fairly flimsy but comfortable. My missus bought me some last year and I started using them when the velcro failed on my old pair. They are waterproof but not being so robust they will leak before the year is out. I got rid of mine for A* SMX-6 which are in a different league, but they should be at £230 vs £30.

For the money you can't really go wrong.

It's always only ever men's clothing Sad

Mind you, even proper motorcycling clothing manufacturers have stopped making my size in a couple of lines Neutral

Yeah, they're fine. I've got a Lidl socket set that's survived a couple of BCF BBQs as well as a loan to another BCFer with no ill effects. They're not super high quality but the ratchet action is decent and the sockets don't let go, so no complaints from me.

I got the helmet from Lidl last year. It is OK but not brilliant. It was noisy and the build quality was lacking a little bit.

Having said that, it stopped my head from getting mashed when I had my off last year. Had to replace it after that (the bits at the side that manage the flip front had come a bit loose).

Damn, was hoping for a tank bag

Bought one of them in 2005(ish) for £5, it's been excellent although it is starting to fall apart now

So are the 'performance' top and trousers there for comfort or for warmth?

The neck warmer from Aldi is multi-functional

I wonder what else it can do?!
